Thanks so much for evryone's support here.  I feel much better, but it takes some time to ease the pain.  Now, just prepare to go to HK next week to say a final  "good-bye" to my Uncle B.; unfortunately, my E is going on a business trip to Vietnam next week, so I must go to HK alone with Amelie.

I think lots of you like this new profile pic, i love this pic too, what a happy Mom and daughter! .   It has been taken in Todanji , Nara (東大寺, 奈良).  I just uploaded all the pics take fm. Japan yesterday, but it takes me some time to recognize the places and the temples' names, cos there're so many temples/ shrine there.  Talking about this pic, and the place, Nara,  It's very interesting that there're lots of deers running around the area, you can feed them as well, but Amelie and I were afraid to get too close the the deers, so we didn't feed them.  But I saw some high school girls feeding one deer, and then all the deers chasing after her.

Todanji, Nara, very beautiful, and magnificent temple:

    The lovely deer in Nara:

Thank you my Japanese friends, a_a_mio, Jasmine T, and Amey, giving me lots of suggestion on this trip to Japan.  Just a question to my Japanese friends: "what is the different between a temple 寺 and a shrine 神社?"

I just uploaded all the pics fm. Japan in my laptop, so it takes me some time to reorganzie all the pics (700 in total!).  I'm going to blog some more on my trip later.

Thank you my AnD friends again.

Hi Amy,, I haven't been on in awhile and just caught up on your blogs.  My deepest condolences to you and your family for the loss of your dear Uncle B.  If it is any comfort at all, from what you described he lived a full life with no regrets and many friends.

The new pic of you and Amelie is so sweet :)

Shrine is for Shinto 神道. It is Japanese original religion which adores nature. We believe everything has a god inside. So we say there are 8,800.000 gods in this world!

My english friend asked me if there was god inside his mobile phone. Well... I don't think so.

Todaiji in Nara. haha correct answer.
did you go through the hole of a woddy column inside?this is same size as the hole of  nose of gread budda;P
as for your question , its complicated and hard to explain in plain. buddist temple is same as yours . shrine is  dedicated to other god or so on, ill try to write about it in my next blog because i took some pics of Yushima shrine the other day. the film"happy birthday" with Louis was shooting there.
