i'm drinking theraflu -- severe cough and cold! i hope to be asleep in 30 minutes or so. the coughs have really been hurting a lot today, they're the kind that hit you in the ribs
as i drink my cupful, i'm reminded of this fellow i ran into at safeway the other day when I was buying robitussim. the man looked like he was in his 50's or 60's, hair a bit dishelved, moving quickly towards the medicine aisle with a sense of urgency.
as he knelt down and it became clear that he was looking at the same robitussim row that i was, i pointed him to the specific one i was getting in case he wanted to know. robitussim DM maximum strength with double expectorant dosage. the stuff matt always says is best for sore throats because it's good to get all the mucus out. the man looked through the medicines a bit more and then grabbed a night and cold formula and said "this is what i need, my poor baby's not sleeping well and coughing all night." he smiled, said that he hoped that i'd feel better soon, and walked away with the same urgency as when he came

granted i don't know when they were married but i assume it was awhile ago. and yet he still calls her "baby," he still rushes to care for her. how very warm and wonderful of a thought :) in those little moments, you can learn a lot about someone
