    OMG!
    My daughter turns 16 this Sunday!!! Jan.13!!
    She has her learners permit and Monday we are going to get her REAL drivers license! I called today about adding her to insurance- - - OUCH!!!

    So - on the way home from work Monday, my dad calls and tells me to go by this certain street. He says - look at this car that's for sell. *faint*
    I go by... yep there it sits. (taken with phone cam)

    I think my dad is going to buy it from the guy...

    Well- I was going to post this Monday...

    In the mean time -
    Wednesday , me and Dad went by to look at the car, drive it and all that.
    When we got back to the guy's house - My Dad pulled out a stack of money and baught the dang thing!
     
    Well, now my 16 year old has a car.
    She and I are still going Monday to pick up her license and take care of all the wonderful issues of owning a new car... insurance, license... etc.
     
    She really likes it!  We had to go around to her friends' houses to show it off Wednesday night, so she could brag.  I have a feeling some of them are going to "decorate" this car, either this weekend because of her birthday or next weekend when she has her party.   I heard some of them wispering about it.
     
    Life just keeps getting more and more interesting!!

    Wow, what a generous grandpa. Some interesting times ahead, that's fer sure.

    Been there, done that....you'll survive!  Just make sure you two sign a "contract."  She promises to drive perfectly for the rest of her life, keep the music down, no strangers (or other kids in the car til she's 17 if your state has that law), etc., etc., etc., and you promise to not get all nasty and cause a scene if something happens.

    Just when you think you've been through the worst of it, the terrible teens, hormone horror-producing adolescent fits and hair-pulling behavior, they get their license.  Maybe you've lucked out with your girls, they seem like such good kids.  But driving is a mom's worst nightmare and rare gift rolled into one.  On the one hand, they're instantly more independent and on the other hand, they're instantly more independent.  It's a double-edged katana!

    Congratulations to you for raising her and a happy sweet 16 to your daughter.  

    What a sweetie-pie Granpa your dad is.  You're really blessed Critter.
