soundstage in Greenpoint, Brooklyn - music video set - Oct 2007
Joanne has instructed me to update my blog and because I know what's good for me, I do as I'm told (when it's Joanne doing the telling). I wish I had something crazy to report like, "I've decided to become an evangelical preacher" or something... but it's been pretty much steady. Been working on some side projects: some film/video work, a photo book project, as well as some painting. I've also been consulting on a corporate gig, but apparently, it's top secret because I had to sign a non-disclosure agreement that basically said that they can slap me silly if I talk about what I'm working on. I finished my tattoo, as well, and am now working on designing my next one...
This is usually my favorite time of the year in NYC (october - november) which is why I came home for a long stretch now, but the weather this year has been straight up fucking kooky. I landed here at the end of September and it was nice and cool. Then we hit an "indian summer" and had a couple of weeks of hot weather. Then the weather dropped by 20 degrees overnight. Then it went back up. And now finally dropped again. It's absolutely ruined the foliage this fall. In some areas, the leaves haven't even turned color yet (greener than an ounce of california bud) and in some areas, the trees went straight from green to dead (more naked than Kim Kardashian in a Ray J video). A friend of mine in Asia asked me to take some pics of the autumn foliage in New York for her, but I'm having trouble finding anything impressive. Lame. Had I known the weather was going to be so bi-polar, I would have held out and came home for Christmas instead (I've spent the last two Christmases away from NYC and I must say that being away from New York, it hasn't felt like Christmas at all).
So, for those of you who checked in on my blog for a fucking weather report, there you have it. For those of you who were looking for something a little more captivating, I'm sorry to have disappointed.
On a side note, I'm headed back to Hong Kong in about week, so anyone who would like to buy me dinner or give me large sums of money, please shout me out.
