Olympics ... roll on the 26th

A joyous celebration of corporate endorsement, advertising and marketing on a global scale!!! Huzzah! Product billboards and branding are occasionally obscured by people running around, leaping through the air and throwing sticks ... but for the most part tonight will see the launch of a two week long television commercial.

Good luck to the athletes, but my real wishes go to China who - I hope - will survive all the international media attention and exit the games for the better.

Apart from the last sentiment, the whole exercise is almost as misguided as the DJ Mag Top 100. Jesus H Christ on a bike ...  the spamming has begun in earnest this year. Former Shamen (Shaman?) and London's The End club owner Mr. C has been sending out press mails asking people not to vote for him nor anyone else for that matter. The only beneficiaries of the poll are promoters stuck out in third world countries lacking a knowledgeable crowd plus attention whores unable to hustle together any other form of marketable talent. I say vote for William Hung or Somaya Reece ... They both share all the necessary criteria needed to win, and not being a DJ or producer hardly counts as a disadvantage.

Unlike racing the 100m sprint ... where you do actually need to be f*cking fast in order to win.
