my peoples

Been taking these shots for over a year now ... burned out black & white portrait-scape taken (mostly) at the bar. Have about 350 up on Flickr now ... quite like the way they look en masse and I really like catching people's expressions when they are not aware of the camera. People always look more interesting when they are being themselves.

Major downside to all this ... trying to get high contrast photos in low light always requires a flash ... and having a blinding white strobe go in your face at 3AM (especially when ... uh ... you are unaware of the camera ... my bad) is a bit harsh. Would like to find a way of getting around that. Until then ... sorry!

p.s: one thing it does point out is the transiency of people in this town ... loads of the folks in earlier images are (sadly) no longer based in HK.
