Been a while...
Having the chance to meet new people in my work, continues to show me how people can be great...
#1 Parent's who amaze me with how disciplined kids can be. (makes me wonder how or when or if my kid(s) will be like that)
#2 Ordinary people who make extraordinary decisions.
#3 The integrity, organisation, and natural respect that people have.
#4 Not related to people, but I met a truly awesome dog. They 'just got it from the local pet shop' but this dog really was awesome.
As a trainer, a dog that can 'work' is a dream to have. For food, for play or for the person. This is what we call 'drive.' If your dog loves food - high food drive. These dogs are super cool to train because they have 'motivation'. Very rarely, I'll come across a dog that would do ANYTHING for a bit of food. Last week was one of those occasions. Smack on top of that, brains and a hungry dog.
That's the good part. The bad part is, if you don't have the time or the effort to channel this energy; you have a dog that always wants to 'do things for you' - gets bored, frustrated, generally confused and can be a real pain.
The solution: dog needs to be taught that outside is a time to play with you; but 'in da HOUSE' is when he/she plays by him/herself.
