With all the talk of Ani-Com, Transformers, TV Shows, Martial Arts surrounding me I'm (slightly) surprised that there's hasn't been the tiniest peep about Avatar: The Last Airbender. I watch a few other popular TV shows like Heroes and Lost, but Avatar is the only one I watch almost religiously. I was introduced to it by my younger 2nd cousins at a family gathering and it pretty much held the attention of everyone from the youngest (10 yrs old I think...) all the way up to my older cousin (nearing 40). Unlike many American produced animated TV series (with the exception of Gargoyles), Avatar shows a reasonable amount of depth in its characters and themes and manages to appeal to both kids and adults (well, at least me). It's also interesting because it's the first American produced cartoon I've seen to display a heavy Asian cultural bias (well, at least that shows a little more than an Asian guy slicing stuff up). Current rumor is that the next season is supposed to start Sept 21. Can't wait. It's been over a year! There is also supposed to be a trilogy of live action movies written/produced/directed by M. Night Shyamalan.
