Hapa's Mama Goodbye of Sorts

Dear AnD Friends,

We all have to make hard choices in life....there's only so much time, plus you have to make income and take care of your family. It's with a little sadness that I make this announcement.

Some of you might have noticed that there’s not as much going on at hapasmama.com recently. After careful consideration, I’ve decided to leave the website up, but stop adding to it. There seem to be so many other sites/groups within sites devoted to multiracial families. As a one-woman operation, I could not generate enough content and direct enough traffic to the site to really make it viable. Besides, I have taken on freelance writing work to support my family, while I work on breaking into screenwriting. I just had too much on my plate, especially with two small children. But I don’t regret putting up hapasmama at all! I’ve met so many great people, and I’ve grown as an artist and a person by doing this.

From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank you for your support. The AnD community has really backed hapasmama.com so much; the comments you left on the site have literally brought tears to my eyes.  I know that a lot of you really believed in the site, but there are other people with similar sites who are doing a great job, and I encourage you to support them. I love to blog, but I wanted the freedom to blog about a lot of subjects, not just race and family. You can visit my new blog at http://bigworldsmall.wordpress.com. I would love to hear from you over there. You don’t have to be a member of anything to leave a comment. I don't think I'll be posting links from this site to that site--just bookmark it and check it out. I hope to add a blog subscrīption service soon.

Again, hugs to all of you for your awesome support of the site. It really was a worthwhile venture because you made it so. It's so great to find others who feel as strongly as you do about the equality of all people.
