The Bourne Ultimatum (2007)

Went to watch it tonight w/ the guys. It was a last minute decision, I have been stressing out with work and moving and getting ready for my Japan trip, but things went better today than I expected related to work so when the opportunity came up, I realized I could afford to relax and unplug for at least two hours...

I'm not going to try and write a long review for the movie... its pretty entertaining, basically more of the same as Borne Identity and Borne Supremacy. Lots of action and intrigue and cutting between some CIA control room with a guy shouting orders and some action packed chase scenes with Matt Damon magically being ready for everything at just the last second.

In this case things got a little bit too over to top for me a few times... a few too many huge coincidences happen (ie: girl runs for five blocks manages to find one open door and runs up several flights of stairs, guy comes along five minutes later and randomly happens to come into the exact same floor of the exact same building... Jason Bourne magically happpens to figure all this out and jump in at the last second (to que up another fight scene, of course!)

I remember liking the 1st one a lot more than the 2nd one, mostly because I felt the second one was shot rather poorly, lots of blurry, confused shots with fast cuts to try to make it look like there was more action going on (or something). it really bugged me after a while. This one was significantly better in that respect.

Although I enjoyed the fights, chases and car scenes, some of the dialogue stuff got a little boring (i was worried about nodding off!) maybe I need more sleep!

I'll give it a 7/10. (doh, this review still ended up being kinda long!) :-P

it's his masculinity and wits (smartness) that makes him hot... i agree, he's not the best looking or the physically most attractive guy around... but to me, hotness is more than the skin and bod. ;) note: i'm referring to bourne, not damon. =)
alright... well, 9/10 for jason bourne and 7/10 for the actual movie content... it gets a 8/10 in my books! =)

Must say, as much as I like Matt Damon, never understood his 'hotness'.

have not seen any of these movies... only saw parts of the first one, all these closeups and moving cameras for the action scenes, etc...

(sometimes it looks like those horrible effects are applied when editing, which makes it even worse, i.e. crop in to a close angle and vibrate the camera more... not to mention the quick editing-same shot-different angle, etc...)

to me, the general feeling i get is that matt damon is not as cool as the character he portrays, therefore the movie is not attractive to me.

only 7/10?!?! it deserves at least a 9/10- come on... JASON BOURNE IS HOT HOT HOT!!! =)
