  • Extremely Ironic in a bad way...

    My views on organized religion in general aside,  this is extremely ironic in a bad way:

    Muslim Television Channel Founder Charged With Beheading His Wife

    Muzzammil Hassan, who founded Bridges TV in November 2004 to counter anti-Islam stereotypes, surrendered to police Thursday. Hassan touted the network as the "first-ever full-time home for American Muslims," according to a press release.

    "Every day on television we are barraged by stories of a 'Muslim extremist, militant, terrorist, or insurgent,'" Hassan said in the 2004 release. "But the stories that are missing are the countless stories of Muslim tolerance, progress, diversity, service and excellence that Bridges TV hopes to tell."


    Well whatever change he was trying to make, he pretty much torpedoed the whole tolerance thing right there.


    Sympathies to the children of the late Mrs. Hassan.

    that's awful what he's done and he's only fuelled more anger at Islam, such a shame, I feel very sorry for the children.

    yeah I noticed that too. Of course they can increase the charges later but this seems like a pretty easy call to make.

    "Her husband, Muzzammil Hassan, 44, has been charged with second-degree murder."

    What?  "I accidentally, without premeditation, chopped of my estranged wife's head."  Really?

    He abused her (pattern of abuse), he's threatened her recently, he has motive as she's divorcing him and her FRIGGING HEAD WAS CHOPPED OFF!  It's not like she was shoved, fell and hit her head, oops.  No.  It's almost definitively premeditated when you chop someone's head off.  

    I wonder what his punishment would be under Shari'ah (Islamic Law).
