Fuk 8/07 - pt 6 - (The Rest Of) The Lost Pictures!

OK, I promise, this is the last of the last from this trip! (its already been 5 weeks! so late!)
これは本当本当最後の8月日本のブルグよ！ごめん５週後ですけど。。。

Window shopping is also very interesting in Japan:

The only shopping I do in Japan nowadays is for CDs...  there are a lot of great deals on used CDs,  (because they're so absurdly expensive in japan (as much as US$30+ for a new album), a lot of people rent them from video/dvd/cd/game rental shops, which means there's a big 2nd hand market.

今香港に住んでいるから、日本にあまり買い物しません。一物だけ日本に買いたい：中古CD!　日本に新CDとDVD高過ぎけど、中古枚とても安いです！

Every time I go to Japan now, I load up! (here's my haul last time). This is what I got this time:
この回買ったのCD:

15 discs (one is a double album, so its really 16) - 3 of which are full albums, 1 is a DVD-single, the rest are CD-singles.  as you can see, mostly Hamasaki Ayumi, but a few Utada Hikaru and Namie Amuro and one m-flo single..

So how much would you pay for all this?

For those who are new to all this, let me make sure you know that in Japan, new CD singles go for about 1000-1200 yen, and new albums go for as much as 3000+ yen.  The prices are fixed in advance by the record labels and printed directly onto the CD packaging.  By my figuring when new, these discs would add up to be about 21,000+ yen,  or about US$200 total.

Etchy's 2nd hand bargain shopping total price = 1500 yen, or about US$12! 
(actually they had a 'buy 2000 yen get 500 yen off sale', thats why I bought so many at once).  ;-)

When I got home and opened them, I realized that one of the Utada singles was actually still new in the original plastic wrap.  what a deal!

Anyway, moral of the story is: Never buy a new CD in Japan! :-P

15枚けど、全部1500円だけ！この時ブー久-オフーのSaleありました。2000円上たら、500円OFFですから。。。このCD新時、値段は~20,000円上！すごい！

They're just shilling for a new restaurant! 

NOTE: thanks to Aoi-san for letting us know, these guys are called 'Chindon ya' (チンドン屋 - wikipedia). They are professional hawkers who go around and... shill for restuarants and stores. :-P
