    Another Korean movie review - Mr. Socrates (미스터 소크라테스) starring Kim Rae-won.  

    Basic idea is this - gangsters take a dumb thug, kidnap him and force/beat him into studying for the police entrance exam,  he becomes a cop who is secretly working for the criminals...    sounds like it could be a good basis for a comedy?  or for a serious crime film (ie Infernal Affairs).


    this movie was actually quite bad.  It feels like its half-way trying to be a comedy and half-way trying to be serious... but does neither really well.  it has a lot of random violence that doesn't really serve a purpose.  most of the 'funny scenes' aren't particularly funny either.

    It may be harsh, but it was quite difficult for me to finish the DVD -  2/10.

    I liked "Kim LaeWon" of the leading actor in this movie.♪♪♪(^^)
    However, I don't watch this movie yet. .....
    .......wasn't  this movie so good??

    Sounds an awful lot like "The Departed", (which I believe was a remake of an asian movie, I saw it...but blanking on the name)  except they spy in this one is dumb instead of smart...

    yeah,,, watched before... now most of korean production try mix comedy with dramatic script....sometime works... sometime no at all/..
