Pema Pema to SZ!

先週は日ペマペマちゃん日本から出張から香港来るから会った。日曜日は暇あるから、彼女を中国のシンゼン市まで連れて行った。楽しかったよ。写真を見て！

PemaPema-chan was in town last weekend for business, but she had Sunday off, so I took her to Shenzhen in the afternoon for a short visit.  It was quite fun.  here's some pics:

because it was a busy sunday afternoon, we tried the much less busy Lok Ma Chau crossing (see this blog for more info about it).  it looks pretty nice during the day!


We took the subway to Dongmen for some shopping... it was crazy crowded in the subway... i felt like a salmon trying to make it back to the headwaters.



outside was just as crowded... and it was quite sunny.


still plenty of people enjoying some outdoor noodles.



I call this place 19RMB Shoe Explosion...   they just had a giant pile of shoes on the ground...


Long time Etchy blog readers may remember this store on the left from my previous Shenzhen stores:

Yes, its the 2 RMB store! (everything = 2RMB = ~30 cents),  but whats this?  comparing to my picture of this same place from March 2007, you can see that the store on the right has changed!  It used to be a 10RMB store,  but now its changed to a 15 RMB store!  Inflation?!?

(but note the sign that says 'buy one get one free'  above the door... meaning its actually a 7.5 RMB store now?)

In one of the small malls full of small shops, I bought an iphone usb cable, and I noticed these stores:

Basically they're 'DJ' stores... they apparently burn CDs full of mp3s for you, whatever you want... and i guess they'll load it onto your phone or ipod too if you want.    its like the iTunes store... except full service, not self-service. ;-)

On our way to find a taxi, we passed buy this movie theater showing HK movies:

Pema Pema-chan was tired from all the walking,  she wanted a foot massage so we stopped at Lo Wu for 50rmb foot massage: (35 for 1 hour + 15 tip= ~US$7)
