Movie:

Tropic Thunder (2008)

Wow, turned out to be better than I thought!

I didn't expect much, if anything out of it... but it actually had a few pretty funny scenes. And believe it or not, a pretty creative plot - a movie within a movie that's not really a movie. What the hell was up w/ Robert Downey Jr?!? Totally bizarre (i didn't know it was really him for like 1/2 the movie). Good performances by Stiller, Jack Black, MacConnaughey, etc

Definitely lots of homage to your favorite 80s action movies - Rambo, Predator, etc and lots of Vietnam films - Apocalypse Now, Platoon, etc. I'll give it a 6/10.

I gotta see this.. I'm a big war movie fan.

I still watch Full Metal Jacket and Platoon once a year.

Yeah, I kept wondering about Robert Downey Jr. They did an awesome job with his makeup (I haven't seen the movie, just trailers and teasers). But it had to be him. They can't just credit him as one of the leads if it's not him half the time!

this movie was crazy, it went far and beyond what i was expecting hehe.... really getting close to being over the top (maybe it was at times). i also laughed a lot....

Don't forget Tom Cruise too. I thought he was great....And RDJ., well very interesting...."I'm just a guy, want to be another guy, playing another guy...." or something like that...my favorite quote that drive someone insane...good old fashion fun.

The Trailer certainly makes it look a lot of fun, I'm looking quite forward to seeing it, but definitely just as mindless fun.

Didja recognize Tom Cruise as the foul-mouthed head-hancho producer dude? He was really funny!!!! I totally laughed my a$$ off!

Oh, and I really loved the kid that ran the drug ring....he was so good!

I really enjoyed this movie...a mindless laugh-fest!
