Anybody keep an eye on the storm in Myanmar?

I saw many news about this accident

some post said Myanmar's government reject the rescue from American

    it raised the death toll...

and some post said that is not the good time for voting.....

everybody think that the Myanmar Army is the exclusive bad guy...

    Do u think so???

my father's family is overseas Chinese in Myanmar

    I have relative there

He try to phone them before

    fortunately they are all safe

but it is not complety safe at all

the food in Myanmar is not enough...

and diseases are coming if there is no clean water....

Myanmar is not good relationship with American

they strictly control the export to Myanmar

freeze the assets of Myanmar's officials in America...and more

the deputy editor-in-chief of "Times" said in the internet:

"Since the government to resist the longer assistance, the more increase in the number of deaths, so that is the time to consider a more serious choice: the invasion of Myanmar"

finally i don't really know the true about them

but this is not good for link with politics

the victims are waiting for help.....

I think they should accept help no matter what because people are suffering. Why would you let people suffer when others can help them out? It's so sad

It is sad, I can understand the Burmese government worrying about the west sending in 'spies', but their people are in need of aide and that should be their first concern.

My love and best wishes to your father's family,I'm sure aide will be accepted soon.

it's very sad indeed, they accept help from anywhere, as long as it's not in form of people going there to distribute everything...
Even spanish helpers are being refused, spain is sending tons of stuff, but cant send people to help...I think in cases like this, politics should be simply forgotten =(

    From Thai News Paper :
The international aid community has expressed growing frustration with the Burmese military for throwing up unnecessary obstacles to a massive disaster relief programme for victims of Cyclone Nargis, which crashed into central Myanmar May 2 and 3, leaving an estimated 100,000 dead and up to 2 million desperately in need of food, water, shelter and medicine.

Thailand was the first country to fly in emergency aid into Rangoon on May 8. The government proposed using a Thai military C-130 cargo plane to deliver US aid, but the offer was rejected by Burmese authorities.

Ina reversal, the junta then permitted the US to fly one of its own military C-130s with aid aboard into Rangoon from Utapao base in Chon Buri. The first US aid delivered via Thailand was on Monday with a second flight planned later on Tuesday.

Burmese Vice-Admiral Soe Thein, speaking through the regime's mouthpiece newspaper New Light of Myanmar said the country was grateful for the shipment from the United States.

"The donation will enhance friendship between the governments, armed forces and the peoples of the two countries," Soe Thein said.

But he also reiterated that Burma remained closed to foreign aid workers. (BangkokPost.com, dpa)
