     I am a director who has worked for many years in Hollywood.  My recent credits include Scrubs, King of Queens, Til Death and Lizzy McQuire.  For six years, I was the principal director of Moesha, a comedy starring Brandy.  I notice a lot of the artists on this site have experiences in America and China.  Wouldn't it be great if we can get together to do projects that speak to both American and Chinese audiences?

    I think America is more open to seeing more Asians on TV than HOLLYWOOD thinks.  Well, there's an oxymoron:  Hollywood thinking! *enormous chuckle*

    Look at shows like "Hero" & "Lost"....

    America doesn't seem ready for TV shows featuring/starring Asians. I liked Margaret Cho's show, All-American Girl, from a few years ago but it seems you have to play to the stereotype to get any attention. And then it was cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons.

    Anyways, any show with increased Asian presence in a variety of roles would be welcomed.

    Yes!  Movies that speak to American and Chinese audiences.. That's what we're all about!

    Yeah....I'm so tired of Hollywood slicing and dicing up movies from HK and China so they'll appeal to me.  That's a bunch of whooey.  I prefer to see pics done as the artists had intended them to be, whether from Asia or USA.

    On a positive note, I love Scrubs and King of Queens!  Your resume is quite impressive!

    I'm glad you think that's possible.  All I ever read is that if a Chinese film is popular in the US, the Chinese think it's....uh...not (e.g. Crouching Tiger, Hero, Zhang Yimou stuff, some John Woo stuff).

    What do you have in mind?  In your opinion, has there been anything to date which you think worked in that way.  

    This place is an interesting way to learn new things and meet new people.  Hiya!

    welcome!   ~~ I agree with you as well ~ I think there are a few good attempts out there but there are always things that are lost in translation.  Hope to see another blog from you soon!  =]

    I think its pretty cool you worked on ALF!

    I totally agree about something that would appeal to both cultures.  I wonder how AZN TV is doing in this respect. They do have programming that is focused to Asian Americans.  Sadly I opted for Cablevision which doesn't' carry this station. :(
