Dragon Boat - the first real practice...

I had my first real dragon boat practice today.  The sun was shining fiercely but the river speed was still pretty fast.

I had the misfortune of being put in the first row - the thing is, you are responsible for keeping the speed and rhythm of the paddling - and MUST be in sync with your partner... unfortunately, my little arms gave out pretty quickly thus forcing the coach to switch me to the second row

Anyway, we were paddling on the North Saskatchewan River, which contains... treated waste water... great.  So basically, we were paddling hardcore, and then all of a sudden, this motor boat whizzes by... and we were caught in his waves... we panicked and ended up splashing water all over the places... water on my face, in my eyes, my mouth... ewwww..hahaha

anyway.. hopefully, I can feel my arms tomorrow... and my back...hehe
