Dragon boat weekend!

After going through roughly 2 months of training, dedication, and bonding with my dragon boat team, we finished first in our division!  We ran into so many obstacles, and I guess to add insult to injury, the organizers messed up the results and handed over medals to the semi-finalist teams instead of our team, and some others.  The disappointment of not being recognized after all of the hard work, blood, sweat, tears, was just too much.  I almost cried several times yet we held our composure and in the end, we were told we would be sent the gold medals.  The victory was not quite as sweet but a local dragonboat club rallied together, and yelled at the top of their lungs that we were the 'true' winners of our division and gave us some 'hip hip hoorays'... that moment, was so touching, so heartfelt that it washed away all the anger and bitterness we were feeling.  That's what the sport, any sport should be about...

I don't wanna vent too much about it but the weekend was truly great.  It was intense, it was tough, but it was worth it.  I basically raced Friday night (almost in the dark!) then twice on Saturday and twice on Sunday.  Hopefully, I'll get some pictures to post soon!
