There's a big disadvantage living in Ed... there are NO good restaurants. We have so many uninspired big-box or chain restaurants that overcharge and serve mediocrity.
Last night, I went to check out a new restaurant called '100' It's a kitchen/bar concept restaurant so I wasn't expecting anything fancy... I just wanted something unique and delicious. Instead, I was disappointed with dishes that were trying too hard to be something they weren't. I shared 3 things with my friend: Moules et Frites (steamed mussels paired with french fries - which looked like they were deep fried in the dirties oil possible, making the fries dark, burnt, and soggy
), Kobe beef 'sliders' (which looked like they stuffed a HUGE meatball in between the bun - I later realized that they were meatballs because they served spaghetti with Kobe beef meatballs...
) ... last I also ordered a spinach salad with dried cranberries... but was not impressed with the taste.
The damage for the 3 dishes?.. not too bad... including tax+tip it came to $50... but for $50, I probably could've gone for some good sushi... boo.
