• Happy 2008, and that's a wrap...

  Happy new year! Hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas holiday!
   
  After a full month of filming, Kit Hui's movie shoot came to an end on New Year's Eve. It was hard work with many days of long hours on the set, where sometimes it required shooting throughout the night and into the late morning. But it was definitely an incredible experience for me to be able to photograph the movie stills and document the filming, as well as to witness the filming of the movie and all the behind-the-scenes action. As tiring as it was, I enjoyed every minute of it and am really grateful to have had this opportunity.
  
  Basically, when photographing movie stills, I could only photograph during the scene's rehearsals but not during the actual takes. So in that limited time frame, I had to try to get as many shots as I could while trying my best to not get in the way of those handling the camera, lighting, and sound. It can get a bit challenging in a few scenes where the space was super tight, such as in tiny bathroom stalls or closet-sized bedrooms, but I did my best to take advantage of small openings wherever available... if necessary, I'd wait until they've finished filming the scene and I'd ask Terence to re-enact the scene quickly for me so that I can get a few snaps in (and he was always so cool and understanding about it).
  
  One of the things I enjoyed most about the experience was the people... I got the opportunity to work with so many amazingly talented people who were also so nice and down-to-earth, and I ended up making many new friends along the way... Kit, Terence, Eric, Renee, Jane, Vinci, Daniel, Gordon, Phat, Gloria, Camy, and more... To me, no matter how long the day turns out to be, it makes "being at work" that much more enjoyable when you get to be there and go through the day with friends and such cool people. And now that the movie's finished, I'm definitely gonna miss seeing them all so often. But I guess that's how it is at the end of any production... Everyone parts ways, and hopefully you get to stay in touch with some, or hope that your paths will cross again in the future. :)
  
  Now I have tons of photos to go through, but will definitely post some up at a later time. In the meantime...
