  • Kindness - Simple but so True

    Most of us don't know the name of Rowan Le Compte, an amazing artist.  His work in stain glass is truly amazing at the American Cathedral.  I don't think I can do just to this interview in  my own words so I hope you will go and listen to it.

    Please listen to the end of the interview because his recollection of a small girl in the church.  It truly touched me. 


    As artists we need to stay in touch with his words and the words of this little girl.
    Go hear him tell the story.  And then let me know your reaction. 


    Kindness - so simple and yet we need to learn to keep that alive in our lives and in our work.  I sometimes think people consider those who are kind are weak but I don't see it this way.      You can be kind and still strong.  I've noticed that people who feel they must be kind many times are not kind to themselves!  


    So yes be kind to others but be sure to be kind to yourself too.

    Hi Jeanne,
    That was a great audio interview. Hopefully people will listent to the article before reading comments... but The girl dancing at the end of the rainbow hit me in a few ways.
    But the biggest was how as artists the performances and work we create (whether as an actor or filmmaker) should inspire others that kind of joy. The pure simple innocence of that girl responding to light filtered through Rolands "glass" is just like our film is projected onto a screen. WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO INSPIRE JOY, LOVE, HAPPINESS through our work.
