Time flies... we are now 6 months into the year 2008, and what have I been doing all this time?

Mostly, I've been working... actually, come to think of it, I spend a heckuva lot of time just working... then of course, there's all the usual stuff people tend to do everyday just to keep on living... then there's travel time... gosh, just surviving and going from day to day takes up a lot of time, doesn't it?

But other than that, I've done a few events with the Star Wars/Movie Mania folks... more to come in the 2nd half of 2008, I'm sure... but in the first half, the major ones were the Chingay Parade 2008 and the St Patrick's Day Parade 2008.

Most memorable concert of 2008 so far... I think it's gotta be the David Tao concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium... wonder what the 2nd half of 2008 has in store? Any more of my favourites coming to town for a concert? Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

I was supposed to be taking up driving lessons these past 6 months, but I never really had the time for them... truthfully, I'm not one of those people who is just itching to learn how to drive... I figure that the public transportation system where I live is pretty good as it is, and it's less expensive to take public transport than it is to have my own car and drive anyways... of course, the other great excuse NOT to drive is that it's considered more environmentally friendly to just take public transport... so yeah, learning to drive isn't really at the top of my list right now.

I've noticed that my life tends to move in 3-year cycles, or thereabouts... and right now, I feel like I'm about to embark on another 3-year cycle... a lot of changes coming as I hit another birthday... the next 6 months should be interesting... but these days, instead of writing down all my plans, resolutions, promises made to myself, etc... I just say to myself, "Wait and see..."

'Cos I find it's rather useless to plan, to make resolutions and promises to yourself, if nothing is gonna come out of it in the end... so I've quit doing all that... what's more important is knowing what you want and doing something everyday to try to get there.

I've been on leave from work the past 4 days... just clearing leave, no plans, and nothing to do in particular... just kicking back... and I spent a lot of this "free time" online at various websites... one of my favourites is YouTube, and it was pretty amazing just how many video clips I could find there and watch... even the music videos that I thought were long gone, never to be seen again, somehow I was able to watch them on YouTube.

So I've spent a large part of these past 4 days just taking a musical trip down memory lane, revisiting all the music I have ever enjoyed in my life... Duran Duran, Tears For Fears, Depeche Mode, A-Ha, Bros, Bananarama, Mel & Kim, Pepsi & Shirley, Wham!, Gerardo, Ricky Martin, Mandy Moore, Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Fergie, LeAnn Rimes, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill, Ronny Jordan, Les Nubians, Casiopea, Jamie Cullum, Sting, Arcadia, Power Station, Mr Mister, Johnny Hates Jazz, Adam Ant, Cyndi Lauper, Celine Dion, Vanessa Williams, John Williams, and of course... Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Wow! Didn't know a trip back in time could be so refreshing!

It's been said that sometimes, you need to remind yourself of where you've been, take stock of where you are now, and then move forward from there... for me, life is like a journey... so I enjoy travelling and exploring what life has to offer... and it's not just a linear journey from Point A to Point B, it's a journey of 3-D proportions, so it can go in just about any direction! Free your mind!

For me, the problem is not "Where do I go to?"... the problem is more like "Where DON'T I go to?"

So many things to do... so much to see, hear, feel, experience... and just not enough time! How frustrating is that?!??

So where does one draw the line and say, "OK. Enough's enough. This is where I am now, and I'm happy with all that I've done and everything I've accomplished to date. I appreciate it all, I'm grateful for it all, and I'm contented to just be where I am."

Life is so dynamic! People are always on the go. No one wants to be left behind. I think it's probably in-built in us to want to just keep on moving.

Perhaps I'll just close this entry with these words...

Motivation is only temporary. Inspiration is what will keep you going.

So instead of motivating yourself, perhaps it is better to just keep yourself inspired... and there's a lot of inspiration available out there... it's just whether or not you wanna go out there and get it!

So here's to the next 6 months ahead!

May they be filled with inspiration!
