TOUCHÉ BLACKBERRY.

So after my rant on the Blackberry Storm (read below)...RIM comes back with this bit of news. I mean, you can't really pay for a better endorsement than President-Elect Barack Obama having difficulty giving up his Crackberry. (At least he uses Mac laptops.) He is lobbying to try and pass the bill to allow him to be the first Prez to use email as a form of communication (it's highly unlikely though).
Other countries make fun of Americans now for various reasons. We're greedy, lazy, gluttonous, etc, etc. But the fact that a computer has never been on the desk of US President? The fact that a US President has never ever sent a work related email? That's just bonkers. Yeah, you can blame it on security fears, but is that REALLY an excuse? If we can't properly encrypt an email, how are we protecting all that shit NSA, The CIA, The FBI and The Pentagon do? Kinda scary...
Interestingly, President Bush had to give up email before becoming President as well.
Bush said, “Since I do not want my private conversations looked at by those out to embarrass, the only course of action is not to correspond in cyberspace,” Mr. Bush wrote from his old address, G94B@aol.com. “This saddens me. I have enjoyed conversing with each of you.” I guess now he'll reinstate the AOL account. (of course he would use an AOL account). You can thank him for pardoning John Forte of The Fugees.
以前のBlackberry Stormについてブログしましたが（以下参照）...RIMからちょっとしたニュースがあります。次期大統領のバラク・オバマがCrackberryをやめるのを拒んでいる事（link to Pres.-Elect Obama giving up Blackberry)はどんな資金援助より影響が大だと思います。（まあ、Macのラップトップを使っているけど。）彼は大統領として始めてメールをコミュニケーション手段として使えるように法律を改正しようとしています（たぶん、無理だと思いますが）。
他の国はアメリカ人を笑います。僕たちは意地汚くて、怠け者で、大食漢などなど。でも、アメリカ大統領の机の上にコンピューターが置かれたことがない？アメリカの大統領が一回も仕事でメールをしたことがない？考えられない。防衛策なのかもしれませんが、それが言い訳ですか？メールの暗号化がちゃんと出来なければ、どうやってNSA、CIA、FBIやペンタゴンがやっているの事を外部から守れるのか？少し怖いですね。。。興味深いことにブッシュ大統領も大統領になる前にメールをやめなければいけませんでした。
ブッシュ氏は言いました、「私達を困惑させようとするものに私のプライベートな会話を見られたくないので、サイバースペースでの通信をやめるしかありません。」。そして昔のメルアドG94B@aol.comから書いた内容が、「とても悲しいです。皆さんとの通信はとても楽しかったです。」きっとまたAOLのアカウントを復活させるんだろう。（もちろん、AOLのアカウントです。）彼の恩赦によってFugeesのJohn Forteの刑期がなくなったことのお礼のメールでもしましょう。
