After graduating from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU) Accountancy (honours), Joanna Yang started work as an auditor at a Big 4 for 3 yrs, but decided that music is her much preferred route in life.
Music background:
-Straight Distinctions in piano practical ABRSM exams except Grade 4 which was skipped.
-Diploma in piano (Performance Certificate-Trinity College)
-Main pianist in secondary school
-Organized the very 1st Songfest (music competition) in Victoria Junior College, as the vice-president of the 15th Students' Council.
-Soprano sectional leader and student conductor in university (NTU CAC/main choir)
-Main organist/pianist in church choir, also cantor (solo), and sing as soprano and a descant
-Was from the 3rd batch of pop Chinese school, Ocean Butterflies (where local singers JJ Lin, Ah Du came from)
-And now, Joanna Yang teaches piano at a well-known music school and privately.
-But she would like to do more performing, whether in playing/singing or both. She plays for events like company dinners, weddings at hotels etc.
