Happy Year of the Snake!

Prior to this Chinese New Year, we were blessed with unusually warm weather (as a girl who loves the sun, sand and surf, I'm not complaining) and so the CNY flowers started to blossom and bloom, filling the rooms with their light floral scents and displaying beautiful shades of pinks and purples. I wonder if this is the end of winter...fingers crossed and praying for more sunshine!
Last night after yet another Chinese New Year meal, we perched ourselves on the roof with family and friends to take in the awesome fireworks display at 8. It was an astonishing 20 minutes! And even though we missed out on the coordinating music, we still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly.

The Weathering Album Release Concert

This past Friday, The Weathering launched their amazing album and I got to host the event. It was a great evening which included delicious wine generously sponsored by California Vintage and body movin' beats. DJ Miss Yellow kicked it all off for us with some sick mixes and then The Weathering took the stage with tracks from their album, The Sea Cares For Its Own.Applause for this dynamic duo!
Then on Monday morning it was (Super Bowl XLVII + Breakfast Burritos + Beyonce) Friends = ♥ヽ(• ‿ •)ノ♬ ✩I love the Oscar-winning film "The Blind Side" and was happy to see Michael Oher play, as well as the the Harbaugh brothers battle it out as head coaches. The power outage made for an interesting 35 or so minutes and my friend kept on insisting it was Beyonce's fault, with all the pyrotechnics and lights she had used.Finally, you can't have Super Bowl without the US commercials of which, Taco Bell, Audi, Budweiser and Oreo were my fav! -
When life serves you Rocky Road instead of Berries n Cream

My sister's battle with cancer has been a rocky road, with cliffs and valleys to conquer and no finish line to traverse towards. However, through it all, she's displayed strength and courage time and time again and I am so proud to call her my lil sis. (Love you!)Despite the rough times, there have also been sweet moments to be cherished, ranging from fun times with friends to loads of laughs with family and I thank God for each of these moments.January marks the completion of her chemo treatments but as her cancer has no cure, she faces a plethora of paths moving forward. Whether it's a bone marrow transplant, maintenance chemo or natural therapies, the decision is tough. Please continue to pray for my sister and her road ahead.
