6 months passed since I got meningitis. I didn't have typical symptoms so I couldn't diagnosis by myself. I couldn't accept I was sick even I couldn't move my right hand. I am lucky that I'm still alive without any serious disfuunction. I can work, dance and have fun in HK. :)

Meningitis is a kinda brain iflamation. I still have memory loss. It is like I lost the key to open my box of "memory". I have many boxes in my brain and I still couldn't open some of them. Here are some examples.... I forgot names of my favourite band. I had to see my iPod to check their names. I forgot my "best" friend's name at high school. When my friend told me his cousin commited suicide, I just felt sorry. A few hours later I suddenely remembered "my cousin" also commited suicide. I forgot all about this when my friend told me about his cousin. I couldn't believe. How could I forget it? These are the things about "my past". Meningitis affects my short term memory as well. One day I was at a restaurant with my family. I wanted to eat salad and ordered one. I found empty dish. `Oh! Who ate my salad?" My son said to me " You did!! I wasn't drunk at all. I don't drink when I eat out with my family because I'm a driver.

I know it's strange but I feel I'm happier. I think I forgot all bad things in my past. About short term memory loss, my doctor says it will be fine sometime soon.

By the way I got a new hamster! She is a cutie, huh?

ur hamster is cute, mio ^_^ but she needs more food hahaha. i like her eyes.how cute

with ur disease my friend, see it as a blessings. Not many people can do something and can totally wipe it out of their mind, it's a blessing in disguise. I am glad you are happy, embrace life Mio, maybe with all this, you will learn to love and treasure every bit of life more. Feel better soon dear. Hugs

mio with a case like this you are right, you should be happy that your health is still great and you still enjoy your self every where you go. and the extra perk is you dont have to remember bad things or guys who have tryed to hit on you in the past... haha easy come easy go! =]

that is weird about the short term memory loss. But it's kind of good that you can forget about bad things that have happened. ^^;;

Meningitis sounds scary, and glad you're recovering. Hope you'll regain your good memories in time, the bad ones I guess are best left forgotten.

Thanks again for your pointer for Tokyo, I love visiting there. I will post some pictures on my blog soon.
