My work fusing with Helmut Newton and Myself

6個評論Hey Everyone,
believe it or not but this is in fact my very first blog entry....EVER! I am actually very tired (since we were shooting up to 4am today) but I really wish share more of myself and the great fun/experience that I have made working with a great team last night.
I have also had the intention of doing something more daring, Helmut Newton-ish. But this time I was going to bring it the next level as I have included myself in the shoot.
That made things very challenging for me.....I was rushing in between shoot sets, wardrobe selections, arranging light setups, co-ordinating people etc.
We all got together at my studio at around 4pm. Unlike all other photographers in Hong Kong, fyi, my studio is not located in Chai Wan but Kwun Tong.......since I live in Sai Kung and rents in Chai Wan are way too high, I decided to go for Kwun Tong. Great developing area and you can almost get anything in case you need any props/industrial equipments for any shoots on a spontaneous basis.
Alright, back to where I was. I was working with the ambitious/young and talented Harry Lam. You can also find him on this site. He used to work as Sean K's assistant. We are like brothers now as we enjoy being creative and also having a couple of pints after a long shooting day :)
We were also joined by Karen Yiu, Hong Kong's best body paint specialist. Her skill is just awesome for both Hair and Makeup. Alex....another great hair stylist joined us as well.
Originally this shoot initially started out to be a test in the brainstorming phase. I shared my ideas with the amazing Ann who is the editor at Kee Magazine. I do a lot for them, and it's pretty much firm that these images will be published in the upcoming issue of Kee. Let's see!
As you can see from here, when we first started everyone is calm.
You can see my office area above. I know...all my shelves are still empty. It has only been two months since I have moved in my new studio. In the background you can see my wife, marketing manager and my two digital artists fully absorbed the power of the screen.
In case any of you will work with Harry Lam....which is highly recommendable, I suggest you get a back place. This guy arranges truck loads of wardrobe which is really amazing for one man band (occasionally he will have an assistant with him; before his girlfriend, however, she scolded him for making her steam the wardrobe for a full day non-stop when we worked on a shoot with Lisa S....told you..too much wardrobe. it's just hilarious.).
That's nothing but you can see my reception area filling up with accessories, racks, shoes etc.

That's my pantry. Harry and Karen are having a quick bite before getting ready for ACTION!
...We were also very lucky to be the very first team to shoot this new beautiful vintage necklace from Chanel. Is it not gorgeous?!!?
As the make-up artist is starting to groom the model, I was start preparing the first set.

Once I get back to the wardrobe area, I see the crazy Harry fitting on the wardrobe on himself.
And here we go...that's the infamous Olaf before I started getting my own makeup done.
Still looking fine but look what happened next...
...looking like a ladyboy/drag queen/ballet dancer...hahaha....since I was shooting B&W, I knew that the makeup had to be way more dramatic than usual.
.... here are some impressions from the actual shoot including a sneak preview image of myself eating a raw steak of the mode's stomach. Images will follow soon once I have had chance to process them.
Thanks for taking the time to read!!!

Here the sneak peak TEASER!!
