Seriously, the first time I watched this, my eyes were suddenly brimming with tears. This is about suddenly, unexpectedly stumbling upon something in this universe so beautiful, it crashes into the very core of your soul. You know what I mean.
Susan Boyle, unmarried, unemployed, 47 years old. Taunted all her life because of how she looked, contributing to a shyness that caused her to find refuge in singing. Her mother, perhaps the one who knew of Susan's talent, had a favorite show called Britain's Got Talent, and encourage her daughter to try out for it. But a lack of courage kept her from auditioning, and then her mother died. Two years later, still living in her mother's house, in her childhood room, without a job and a family to call her own, the desire to do one thing to make her mother proud compelled her to finally try out for the show.
The rest, I hope, will be history.
