• Proof that Rotten Tomatoes is mainstream

  So I was at work today and a co-worker comes by and says, "I have to show you something!" She proceeds to whip out a novel called "New Moon," which is apparently the second book in the Twilight series.
  
  
  After flipping through a bunch of pages, she shows me this.
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

  The diminished numbers didn't dampen Mike's anticipation, though. It was all he could talk about Friday.
  
  "Are you sure you don't want to see Tomorrow and Forever instead?" he asked at lunch, naming the current romantic comedy that was ruling the box office. "Rotten Tomatoes gave it a better review."

  
  
  I remember the first time in those early years at Rotten Tomatoes when we uncovered the first "real world" reference to Rotten Tomatoes. The director of one of the Final Destination movies brought up the Tomatometer on the commentary track of the movie's DVD. But this is the first time I've seen Rotten Tomatoes referred to in a work of fiction! Pretty cool.
  
  
  Ironically, there is no such movie called "Tomorrow and Forever," so this is a case in which made-up characters in a work of fiction talk about the rating of a nonexistent movie on Rotten Tomatoes, making RT is the only "real" thing about the whole thing! :-P
