Hi guys,

My Hong Kong horror feature project Rigor Mortis has been selected as part of the NAFF 2009 It Project market at the Puchon International Fantasy Film Festival. Each year, they pick 19 genre projects out of Asia and beyond to participate:

I just checked the site, it's not too specific but it does seem like it's in the same area as before, maybe a few venues have changed but they do mention Boksagol Culture Center and Songnae Stn which I know of. Strangely enough my cousin moved to teach in Korea and ended living in that area, which was pretty weird to her because it's such a typical suburb and she couldn't figure out why I knew the area and my way around.

There's plenty of places to go out for a few drinks and eating in the area. Not too sure about shopping but I doubt there's anything great around. But if I was alone I'd rather take the train into Seoul and explore.

I've been there in 2005, which was the first year they split after the Bucheon city hall and the president of the festival until 2004 got into a fight. I think it was in July at the time, both festivals, the Puchon Fantastic and the first Real Fantastic Fest (which was created by the fired president).

I can't say much about Bucheon, it's a suburb, pretty much. But I guess as a participant they might have some events and parties for you and such so it shouldn't be too bad. But as a non-Korean speaking foreigner, it's all kinda dull, unless they relocated the venues (used to be in the Songnae area, dunno these days). At least you're a short train ride away (about an hour) from Seoul so you can easily go and see stuff on your free time.

李孟熙是洛杉磯、溫哥華和香港的制片人、編劇和導演。他在香港長大，十幾歲移民到蒙特利爾，在UC伯克萊大學拿到英文碩士學位。當他拿著自己拍攝的短片《Flow》在電影節巡展上尋找伯樂的同時，還在攻讀耶魯大學的英文文學碩士以及加州大學洛杉磯分校的導演藝術碩士學位。

他的首部電影《Shopping for Fangs》在1997年多倫多國際電影節首映，在美國雖在有限範圍內發行，同樣贏得了嚴苛影評界的贊揚。《Shopping for Fangs》由Margin電影公司出品， Quentin負責編劇、跟Justin Lin合作導演、制作以及發行。這部電影的成功為Quentin與Justin Lin合作的第二部電影《Better Luck Tomorrow》鋪平了道路，在2002年聖丹斯國際電影節上大放異彩。

Fangs之後，Quentin回歸到更私人的領域，他制作、編劇和導演了在同誌電影節巡展上大熱的電影《Drift》，並賣給了Wellspring Media。這部電影在洛杉磯公映時佳評如潮。

《Ethan Mao》是Quentin編劇、執導的第三部電影，於2003年在AFI電影節上首映，在都靈國際同誌電影節上獲得了觀眾大獎，並銷往世界各地。

《0506HK》是Quentin的首部紀錄片，記錄了他對香港的眷戀之情。其中有采訪香港文化的標誌人物甘國亮、電影導演陳可辛和陳德森，紀錄片導演張虹以及動畫導演許誠毅等人的片段。這部紀錄片將作為溫哥華國際電影節"香港故事"單元的重要部分进行公映。

李孟熙現在正忙著幾部片子，有《The People I've Slept With》、《Chink》和一部紀錄短片《Chinese Class》。
