On my way to get some studying at a nearby coffee shop, I noticed an old man looking really confused on a corner of a four way stop. He had a head of white hair, a small beer belly, and held a cane with his right hand and the Stop sign pole with his left. As I waiting for this lady and her kid walking slowly across the street in front of me, I had a little bit of time to do some observation. The old man took some small steps toward his right and then a few steps toward his left. He looked like he was trying to figure out which way he should cross the street. He looked so scared and confused that I decided to help him out a little. I rolled down the window and waved for him to cross the street. Unfortunately, the car on the opposite lane didn't really care and decided to cross anyways. Since I couldn't hold the traffic any longer, I crossed too. I hope the old man found his way. It's weird how some old people can just walk right onto the crosswalk without thinking twice about following traffic regulations and others are just so scared that a car will run them over in heart beat. Luckily, my grandma doesn't fall in either categories. Go grandma!!!

awwwwwww... i really hope he wasn't lost or he didn't have alzheimer's... my grandpa, who has the disease, has wandered out onto HK STREETS before. =/ that was before he was put in his current nursing home. =/

We had "hearing impaired" pedestrian signs installed this year. My mom's always been deaf but now she's 87 and slowing down. They come at you going 50+ on this road (in a 40mph zone). It's hardly enough time to get the mail.

Someone on the sidewalk should have been gently assisting him with a "Do you need help sir?"

Well, I would be scared too! Some drivers these days are lunatics, even young, energetic people have to be careful crossing the street!

Super straight forward and blunt. I'm the friend that tells you that you look like sh*t at the end of a long day at work (and then I help you fix your hair). I can be pretty intimidating, but everyone around me knows that I'm one of the nicest people they'll ever meet. I can talk to anyone, anywhere, on just about anything that comes to my mind at the moment. I'm a Cancer so I can get along with practically anyone. At this moment in life, I can say that the smartest decision I ever made was to study abroad in Hong Kong, where all I did was shop, eat, party, and travel for a year (but don't tell my parents that). I'm super addicted to girly books (I love Sophie Kinsella) and was recently tricked into reading my first romance novel(it's like porn on books). I truly believe that I am destined to be a photographer, food critic, or an event planner, but somehow landed in banking and finance. I'm an impulsive shopper (last year I bought a PSP and now it's just sitting on my book shelf). I have a passion for food and I love trying new restaurants. I once told a friend "if we weren't working together we would never be friends because you can't eat garlic." My friends appreciate food. For some odd reason (I still haven't figured out what) I have the shortest attention span when it comes to the guys I date. I can be staring at my cell phone when it rings, but I'll never pick it up. I'm addicted to buying Chinese DVDs. I'm allergic to lychee, but I eat it anyways. I can't stand pretentious people, I rather respect you for your b*tchy a**hole selves. I learned how to read and speak Mandarin by watching tv. I once told a Congressmen to get off my seat at a conference in capitol hill. I'm not on facebook.

Update 8/17/2007...just kidding...I'm on facebook now.
