    Wow. 2009. Crazy.

I haven't been online for about a week now. Well, I have been on to check emails and stuff, but otherwise, I've been a little too preoccupied.

I started off my little break searching for some wedding songs. It's great that the internet produces such great lists of songs. I'm thinking I'll just buy the songs off iTunes, as a sort of side gift, cos searching for free versions is just gonna take extra long. Fortunately, I've been able to find most of the songs off lists. I've only sampled them so far, but most of them are making the yes list, so hopefully I've have a long enough playlist when the time comes. Bride-to-be's getting anxious and I think I'm gonna have to really knuckle down on the songs.

Unfortunately, my concentration didn't last very long on this task. Got distracted. Remember how I went to see Twilight on Boxing Day? Well, initially, I wasn't interested in the books. I do like to read and sometimes read a lot, but I still prefer movies. But, obviously, movies always cut half the story out, so I was curious to see what the original story held. Then I got rather obsessed and this afternoon, I finished the last of the four books in the published series. I think I started reading on New Year's Eve, or the day before that, cos it was at least two days after Boxing Day, since I wasn't originally intending to read the books. I couldn't put the books down.

I've downloaded the fifth, unpublished, unfinished book which the author provided on her website. Someone had uploaded a draft of the unfinished manuscript and she'd stopped writing the story for two reasons. One was that the half finished story was out there anyway (although changes have been made to that version) and the other reason was that in her current state of mind, the story would be different to the original. This book is the same as the first book in the series, except that it's written from the angle of the male lead. The rest of the series (bar one third of the last book) is written from the girl's perspective. It's really amazing when you see things from another perspective, and really explains a lot more. I wonder if the author already had these ideas in her head and never shared them until writing this book, or if she came up with them while writing it. Anyways, since the ending would be completely different in her current state of mind, it doesn't really work, since the story's supposed to be the same.

I've just been reading it now and then since it's an electronic version and I can't read it for very long in one sitting. Plus, my mum keeps wanting to use my MacBook to watch stuff that I've got on it. I feel like my family use it more than I do! I don't think my sister even uses her laptop very much anymore, cos she's finished her studies at university and now only one to check her emails, which she does on mine since it's almost always on. Funny how someone in the computer industry doesn't actually use the computer in her own time. But a lot of her old classmates do. To them, it's being on the computer every waking minute. To her, it's only as much as her work requires her to. She doesn't start at her new job til 20 January, so she hasn't really touched a computer (other than to check her emails) since she finished her studies (which was before she went to HK). Haha.

Anyways, just thought I'd pop in. I have way too many feeds to go through, so not tonight (it's almost midnight, and I've got church tomorrow morning), but will definitely try soon. I've almost lost track of the days, to be honest. Have to think hard about what day it is whenever I wake up. If I didn't have church on Sundays, I swear I would not wake up Monday morning for my last ever week at the National Library. Woah. One more week!

Oops, still gotta sort out my flights to HK! Eeek! Maybe I shouldn't go.....

But my friends from the Sunshine Coast are expecting me early February, so I guess I really just gotta go ahead and do it. I'm really starting to freak out right now!
