Due to the fairly warm spring weather (around 17°C) and a longer break between two rain falls I decided to repair my bike which was already overdue for quite some time...the tire of the front wheel had to cuts on the side which actually meant that I was driving around with a bulk in the tire for several weeks. They appeared after my bike was in repair due to several broken spokes and they pumped up the front wheel real hard .

I did not only exchange the front tire but also the front tube, which lost air as well over night, which meant that I must have been driven over some broken glass on friday night .

As the pic of the front tire shows it partly started to dissolve itself anyway so it was a good decision to replace it. I actually have no idea how old this front tire was...

I just finished the repair before the next rainfall came down...

Yes, that's my bike, my companion for so many years already - carrying me almost everywhere

Oh, in a city it is very common, because some drunk people always love to slam empty bottles on the pavement >.<
I cannot remember how often I had to change my tube because of that..

I see your bike need many repairs after last seazon, hehe

I never had tear in tube after riding over broken glass - I think this is myth :)
The most of tears are after riding over the branchs of Acacia (it have spikes) in ours climate zone.

    old but nice trekking bike

I wish I could ride a bike, I find them harder then motorbikes to control!. And I wouldn't have a clue about fixing them.
    Great companion to have.

Hmm.... I just wondered that what would happen if I try to fix my bike?
I probably do more damages instead of fixing them! :D
Oh! I have changed these fenders couple of years ago! It was pretty difficult task ;P

PEDAL POWER!  Good on you Silky.  Gets you to the train and then mass transit to work.  Your "carbon footprint" must be great!
