Clearing things up

Ok.. In the last entry was saying something about trying to keep up.. not with my job (since there's no work anyway) but with hmm.. everything..
See, as an animator, I make less money than a salesperson (I guess, I don't know..) anyway, small money. And among the people that I know of.. friends from my highschool, from uni.. everybody makes double, triple, quadruple, quintuple, or even more.. amount of money. I'm fine with that, because I know I can afford it (for now, at least). I don't have a family waiting for me to feed, and I don't have burdens or debts from the past I need to pay off.
That is not to say that I don't want to make money.
But, after the party today, again I realize that as an animator, it'll take me more than just years to get to the level that my friends would probably get to in a few years. It's like.. exponential growth for them, but flat rate with slight increase for me. Especially in a big company like Imagi, it's like being a really small potato, almost impossible to become a big potato (unless if you are a super genius, or you get married to the boss..).
Now, the company is changing its policy, so that they don't only look at years of service into the promotion criteria, but also the skills. If you have what it takes, you can get what you want. So, my vision for now is: to become an important small potato. Small as it is, you can't have french fries without it.
Hmm, what made me want to say these stuff?
Well, we had the party today, and there were senior level managers/executives among us. At the end of the games, our team won 1000 dollars (woohoo!). And then there were extra $1000 (punishment money taken from our senior managers who lost the games) to give out. So we had a lucky draw, 2 x $500 as prizes. When the lucky person comes up to get the money, he/she must drink beer before he/she can get the 500 dollar. When the money was finished, Tim was so enjoying the atmosphere that he took out another 500 for the draw.. Then Kim also took out 500 for the draw, as well as Ken, and Mark (producer, i think..). Even after that.. Tim took yet another 500 for the lucky draw!
Its so easy for them to do that! I mean.. just for fun.. let's take 500 out to give out to people... oooohhh that was really fun, here's another 500 for you~!!
Sheesh.. so you can see how much difference between me and the seniors.. I hope one day I can do the same :P
My cheeks hurt from too much laughing today.. the party was crazy... we had games, like scissors-paper-rock (I won!), gun duels, and Guess-what-cantopop-the-foreigner-is-singing game. Ken (a japanese american i think, he doesn't know any canto) tries to sing whatever cantopop is playing on his headphone and it's so funny when he was singing "Lalallaa... shek ni shek ni.. ooo..ooo uuuu..... oi oi choi... ching chong ching chong...."
and everybody went "O_o ........................????????????? What song is that????"
We even added armwrestling game, with people challenging Mark (he's a caucasian, and he's got huge huge muscles..)
Our production coordinator was also drunk after a few drinks.. haha.. and he sat at the corner all night, while we play our games, staring at the rubbish bin in case he throws up.. bahahahhah.. good times before the "Challenging work ahead," says Francis Kao.
