Never Ending Weekends (Pt 2 of 3)

i still have projects piled up, but i wanna finish these entries!

so, my Saturday started off FANTASTIC!
my twin brother from France, Julien, came visit!
so nice to see him again...and he brought me a photography book!

they wanted to have lunch with me but i took brunch. so, we parted and i went my way–bank then polaroid films.
while on my way, i saw someone familiar smoking down the street. i dunno what gave me the courage to just go up and say hi!
i still can't 'click' where i saw him, but he turned out to be Rain, one of Wendy's friend.
oh me and my bad bad memory cells!!!! hahahaha! half way departed from the random meeting, i remember reading his blog on Theme magazine web page. so tht's where i saw him!!! hahaha!!! *knock my head*
after tht, the rest of the day was amazing amazing. took the train up to 23rd street and 2nd avenue. walked around to explore this avenue. so sunny yet comfortable. i love it when sunshine in the cold. i smile all day while walking with my ipod playing my FOO/s playlist. *smile*
this avenue is full with residential buildings. old-ish architecture with fire escape and brick walls in deep brick red or dark brown. oh i wish i have my camera with me to capture it..yet i don't think i'll be able to capture what i saw. it was just so beautiful. one has to be there to experience it. am i thankful i decide to spend my day exploring tht day.
walking...walking...i ended up in a playground on 29th street and 2nd ave. i went up to one of the play structure, sit and let the sunshine on me. music still playing, my mind floating, smiling to the sky i am. hearing some cheerful chit chat from the kids around. no no, no one but me is on the structure. mind, am i the big bully! *giggle* cloud was moving in the sky...so beautiful. then, a rainbow appear to color up my day. *smile* (i can still picture the moment i spent sitting down on the playground structure.) [the chemical brothers - star guitar was playing] *perfect* :)
i only manage to capture some photos with my camera phone tht suks. still..it works, right?
next stop, i walked up north more on 2nd avenue. passed by LOEWE's theater, saw Borders bookstore, decide to go get me a calendar and The Little Prince book. yes, i haven't read tht book before. my friend recommended it to me, and also, Wendy mentioned it in one of her entry. such happy day for me, i wanted to read the story! then, i came out with a Walt Disney's Classic movie posters calendar and of course the book. very happy and satisfy with my purchase. *wink*
i love classic cartoons *happy happy*
then continue on my journey up 2nd avenue. highly recommend anyone in New York to walk down 2nd avenue when it's a nice nice day out. *smile*

walk and walk, i navigate based on buildings i see on the street. then i saw a bunch tht looks nice and cozy. man i was not wrong!!!!
the place is quiet. not creepy quiet, but peaceful, beautiful quiet. it's also a weird up hill walk IN the city. tht's another thing tht caught my attention. i walked towards the end of the road, and it was the highway at the East river. i have NO CLUE where and what it's call, but this little residential area is call Tudor City Place. again, should go visit! esp around this time where all the leaves are gone, leaving you the branches, bushes and rocks around the park. i definitely feel i'm experiencing winter season in New York! just like one saw in TV! how wonderful. i know this sound cheesy, but yea, i can feel i'm in the United States! *smile*
again, i had the park all to myself. i pick a bench, i lay down and again, i have a silent conversation with the sky, listening to Junior Boys in my ears. ahhhh....i love it. so relax. i can even feel the breeze from the bushes, from the plant surrounding me, even though there isn't much greens with them anymore. plants are definitely magical to the environment. unexplainable.
Tudor City, i will visit you again...*smile*
off i walked back towards the west, Grand Central station is the next stop. it's time for me to depart with the sun, head back to my cozy bed before it gets too cold. oddly, i walked past Malaysia embassy. i stopped. looked. and smile. i won't be able to celebrate Chinese New Year with my family this year, but i know they will love me and support me, vice versa. one thing tht made me smile, my parents called me few weeks ago to ask me how to fold some ang pau origami for CNY decoration. oh how i smile and laugh. i love my younger brother who willing to take up the decoration duty while i'm not around. i love my family truly, deeply, madly. *i miss you all*
on my way to Grand Central station, i stumble upon the Grand Central market. one thing about riding subway, one will never really know what's above the ground. again, am i GLAD i decided to walk above ground! *smile* walked in the market, everything look so fresh! bought myself a pack for fresh bite size carrots and a loaf of pumpernickel bread. food just look so tasty! plus after all these walk from 23rd street to 43 street, man, ANY food looks tasty to me! hahaha!

now, fast foward to dinner. meet up with my twin again. we went to Peep (http://www.peepsoho.net/) resetuarant in Soho. it's a fancy thai restaurant. tiny long strip dimension with modern, clean minimal furniture. food taste good. reasonable price. the unique part is their restrooms. it's a one way mirror, where you can view ppl eating outside while you do your 'thing' inside. hahaha! go try it! *wink*
then walking back to my humble home, i saw someone i recognize again on the street! this time, i don't care and just went up to him and greet, "You are Rob from Linkin Park!" YES! he's from Linkin Park...but guess what, HE'S NOT ROB!!! hahahahahaha! HAHAHAHAH!!! there goes my useless memory cells! i spent about 5 minutes telling him tht he's Rob like i know him better than himself! WAKAKAKAKAKAK!!!!!! (i'm still laughing at my stupidity).
i know his face. of course anyone can recognize him. but i got his name WRONG! he's the joker of the group, so i thought he was fooling around with me, saying he is NOT Rob. i even told him, "You are lying. You ARE ROB!" hahahah!!! man now i can imagine how stupid i looked from his point of view. hahahah!! *sweat* but he was super duuupeerrrr nice and sweet. he kept smile at me and look at me, smile smile smile and said, "..no, i'm not Rob." hahaha!!!!
thank you BIG BAD BRAD!!!!! we parted with a stupid hand smack on my face (not literally) when i finally know who he is. hhahahah!!!! he even said, "I take it as a compliment. Rob is good too!", and continue, "You have a great night," OH HOW EMBARRASSED!!!!! hahaa! but i thought it was a real funny situation instead. i walked back towards my French friends and YELL–"I FORGET HIS NAME!!!" hahahahah!!! they thought he was some homeless dude tht i know. i almost push them to the wall for not knowing who he is. hahaha!!! still, i guess i need to lecture myself instead. i was soooooooooo star struck! i guess i still can't get over artist being just human like me! hahahahah!!! (need to work hard on tht! :P)

now no no, my day didn't end there. another one coming right up! thing is just getting sweeter EVERY MOMENT!!!
meet up with my friend from Boston, wanted to go to Bar 13 for a friend's birthday. but mostly to take my friend to techno party, and meet my Colombian family! however, my friend wanted to go Home Sweet Home first before heading there. HSH is close by my place, so i said yes. walked there...saw the line. was about to leave to Bar 13 instead but ended up having the patience to stay and finally get in! it was a good decision. thanks to my friend for persuading me to stay! :P
music was good. those 80's rock, pop, dance, electronica music. i lilke! than later we found out the reason for the line was because apparently there were like 3 different birthdays celebration at the same spot. *wow*
anyway, after that, when i was about to leave, i spotted yet another familiar face!!!! LUCKY ME!!!!!!! i'm sure it was the rainbow i saw in the morning tht gave me all these luck!!! *big joker smile*
YES!!!! i met Dan Keyes from Young Love yet AGAIN!!!! oh my oh my. star struck again! this time, i had my polaroid camera with me (the only one camera tool i have with me now. never use it a lot cause the film is expensive! but been using it lately for my own collection)! great timing!!!!!!
i went up to him and asked, "May I take a polaroid photo of you?" he replied, "Not unless YOU are in it with me!" oh how i blush soooooo harddd!!!!!! *blush blush blush*
of course i said yes! thanks A LOT to my friend as well for willing to take it for me. *love you girl!* and WAHLAH!
there goes my mysterious fiancé/boyfriend/'tht guy'!!! hahahaah!!! i'm loving this pic sooo much! he surprised me! as soon as i stand next to him, he literally grabbed me soooooo tight towards him! he was tall and he picked me up a little till i reached his shoulder!!!! *blush blush blush* now you girls understand why i have the happiest, loveliest smile? tht moment was just so so sweet! sugar level overload!!!!!!!!!!! *dreamy* i nearly fell down towards him when he let me down. hahaah! but one thing to note though, he was drunk for sure. hahahahaha!!!! again, LUCKY ME! :P
then the rest of the night, i met up with my roommates, ex-roommates, and roommate's band mates for party at Bar 13!!!! PERFECT PERFECT WAY TO END MY DAY!!!!!!! i was soooo happy to see them all showed up! love them deeply too! [head home at 4.30am :P]
and lastly i leave you with a group pic of the few ATTRACTIVE boys from my Colombian family, taken during New Years Eve party (not by me. not even there. stealing it from their profile. haha!). yes, again, love them deeply! man am i blessed blessed to have so many loving friendssssss!!!!! *luckiest girl in the world*
