I love reading ur blogs because I'm the same as you......I love pets! We have a tank full of turtles at home (about 7 right now) and they are the love of my life at the moment. :)

Yeah I love hamsters too and know what its like. Ours (me and my bro's we had back 12 years ago) was a Syrian golden called Happy and he was just fantastic! He was really tame. He'd fall asleep and allow us to hold him on his back while we stroked his belly, check his teeth, paws etc. He lived for about 3 years...which is pretty long for a hammy! ;)

As for death, sadly that's the thing about pets.....you have to be prepared for it. It's the same with people...we do not know when any of us will go..that is why I cherish all life for what they are. Like earlier this year I had a close friend who suddenly died in his sleep. I only knew him from about a year earlier but it was good enough that we both hugged each other like brothers. :)

That said I believe in the eternal spirit - that we will one day return to from whence we came and see our long lost friends once more.... :)
