It is NOT  true that hamsters can't live together, only a handful that fights to death. From the looks of Xuxu, I assume it is a winter white dwarf hamster, which is the less domineering of the dwarf hamster species. Both females and males do mark their territory in the cage with the scent gland on the belly but fighting to death is seldom. When they show their teeth or hiss, it is not that they are fierce, it is just because they feel threatened, our scent are alien to them. I have reared different types of dwarf hamsters in pairs for the past 10 years (male-male, female-female, male-female). They do have small fights but none of them fought to death. It is always good to go to the pet store to check out a hamster in the evening onwards, cos it is the time where they start to get active and you can see if they're hostile towards you. How old is Xuxu? Advisable to introduce a cage mate when they are less than 3 months old. The chances of getting along is higher. There's a book on dwarf hamsters that I recommend, good information.
