Have you ever fallen in love? Have you ever seen two people in love? They say that love is the greatest feeling of all. Different people have different perspectives on love, but do you really know if it is real or not? What does it take to fall in love? What does it take stay in love? Here are some steps or tips to help and guide you to that realization:

Firstly, it takes maturity to fall in love. Many people today have a retarded perspective on love. People nowadays think love is about scoring the girl. There is what you call Trophy Love where one persons goal is to score with another person to show the world that he has won her. Who gets hurt in the end? Obviously, it is the one who got played, usually the girl. You cannot get anywhere with this mentality.

Another, misconception of love is that people think it is love when they feel that rush, or what some call the kilig moment, when they are with that certain person. What happens when you get married and all that rush is gone? What supports the so-called love you have for each other? You cannot base love on your feelings. Feelings come and go. They fade away. There is nothing wrong with that feeling, but do not make it a basis. Love is so much more than the feelings you get. It is deeper than that. You must learn to love the person for whom he / she really is. You will know when it is love when you want him / her to be happy no matter whateven if it means that his / her happiness is not ending up with you. You must take away your selfish motives and think about caring for him / her.

Secondly, it is important that you start off with friendship. It is the best thing that could happen in a relationship. Try not to look at the boy / girl as a potential boyfriend / girlfriend or someone you could date and show off. You must look at him / her like how you would look at your own brother / sister - with purity and genuine love. You must be someone who is there for him / her even when you would rather be someplace else. You must also be someone whom he / she can talk to about anything under the sun. It is important that you have good conversations and jokes together. When you get married, all you two will have is each other and when you two grow old and all the physical features fade away, all you will have is each others' conversations. Be a friend to him / her. Give him / her the love that he / she deserves. Make him / her know that you will always love him / her no matter what that is what you call unconditional love.

Lastly, it is good to have a good relationship with God. Love is like a triangle, it brings you closer to God. He must be in the center of you two. My theory is that you when you fall in love with Jesus, you fall in love with the person you are destined to be with forever. God created him / her. He sees him / her like no one can. The more you get closer to God, the more you see him / her through HIS eyes and that is awesome. When that happens you two cannot help but fall in love with each other and spend your lives together.

When you have ticked off all the steps, you are probably ready for a relationship and you will know if what you feel is true or not. Remember, love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, and it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres.
