• PHOTOGRAPHY WALK - [FADING] heritage

  Inspired by Marc Vogg, one of my best friends from Austria, I had hosted my very first Photography Walk on Nov 8, 2008.
  It was a very good experience for both myself and those who came along.
  We had 5 people that day - Kenny, Mable & Ian, Salina, and myself.
  We went to a place in Shek Kip Mei where there is a newly established creative arts center.
  It used to be a decommissioned 9 storey factory estate and now it's been turned into both a home for artists and designers to pursue their creative works and also an art and cultural hub for the community.
  We spent around 2 hours there walking around and take some pictures. We were free to take any pictures but we did have a theme of [FADING] heritage...
  I really think this is meaningful as you all may know, many of those old districts in Hong Kong will be gone really soon since we have a lot of city renewal projects going on... so it's good in both trying to record what we have in the past and show tribute to the places we live in and grow up on. On the other hand, by doing this with friends, we can learn and see more of how others see things... and that would open your eye... and this is the learning process no matter how good you are. Hoping to have another photography walk... and wish Marc will be there as his pictures will be truely West meets East... :-)
