  I bypass this film last time I blogged about the Asia Society film series, but after reading an email from the AAFilmlab about the director, I'm very interested in seeing this movie.  The story is about a Laos imigrant's (the co-director Thavisouk Phrasavath) experience in war torn Laos and mean streets of NY; it sounds very intriging.  Plus, the music is scored by Howard Shore!

  I'm looking to see it next thursday or friday at Elements at the Kowloon stop.  It can also be a chance for me to meet with my crew  for the film shootout next weekend.  Who's with me?

Thavisouk Phrasavath tells the story of himself as a young man struggling to survive a war and the hardships of immigrant life.   Ellen Kuras' new film THE BETRAYAL premieres this weekend in New York City. Ellen has served on the Final Judging Panel of many of the Annual 72 Hour Film Shootouts. Ellen's director of photography credits include Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Blow, Analyze That, Dave Chapelle's Block Party, Summer of Sam, and He Got Game. Now working as director, Ellen's new film, The Betrayal, is now a part of the Hong Kong Asia Society film festival that I blogged about earlier.

  Eagle vs Shark

  On a totally different tone, I'm planning to see Eagle vs Shark at the New Zealand film fest at IFC.  It should be a good quaky comedy like Napolean Dynamite.  Sweet.
