It has only been two weeks, but it seems now that the period of grief is giving way to a time to heal and recover. Often there is a rush to aid, but sadly the motivation to help slowly fades. It will still take a lot of time and a lot of people to help in this rebuilding process, so right now I want to plan something later this year at an orphanage in Sichuan. Since I had planning experience from last year's volunteer trip, I hope that will help this time around. There are many kids orphaned due to the earth quake, and I feel that this will be one way I can make an impact. Since I have a Child Psychology background, I may be able to help with Trauma Couseling. I will keep folks updated on my planning and will be asking anyone interested in joining me.

The period of pain is hardest to bear, but from personal experience I know time heals. I have seen so many others who have endure tremedous struggles and amazing made it throught. Tomorrow, I will be attending this film series below that speaks of this great human strength that is within all of us. What will make it more special is the fact that I will be going with some kids from Po Leung Kok (a local HK social service group and orphanage). Along with a volunteer group at JP Morgan, I'm going to watch 'Buddha's Lost Children' with these kids and spend time talking to them. I hope to be able to talk to them a bit about the filmmaking process and hope it can spark their creative interest. Perhaps I can even help them form a group to shoot and make their own movie.

As you can see, I'm nowhere near short of inspirations these days. Then again, it is opportunities like these that made me come back to Asia and give back.  It's ideas like this that keeps me up and thinking at night. I felt like I was running in circles before, but finally, I found goals worth reaching and with time, I'll get there.

Yeah, I started talking to my company and I think I'm going to spearhead the planning of a volunteer trip.

I watched the film earlier and the kids were great.  I've also planned the seed for a film project w/ the Po Leung Kok kids.  I can't wait to get these project off the ground.
