On wednesday I went to the '3 minute dating' event that Shan organized.  To be truthful we were 'backup' guys  in the event that there were more women than men and they needed to add guys to even out the numbers.

I didn't mind of course,  because meeting more girls is not a bad thing. :-P

Ultimately I was called to duty and therefore didn't get a chance to take many pictures,  but here's two i took before it started:

located at Delay No Mall's new food court area.  pretty impressive space actually.  i was here in December and it was just a dark storage space full of boxes.

it was cool that Channel V was there. ...but i hope i am not on camera too much. :-P

my thoughts on the dating:    it was interesting (i've never tried any sort of 'speed dating' before),  but i noticed a few things that they can improve on if they do it again:

#1 - too many people!  25 girls + 25 guys = 25 "3 minute" dates = 75+ minutes of non-stop talking.  Also because of the number it was loud and hard to hear the person you're talking to and hard NOT to hear the person you're sitting next to.  (I got to hear Dan Tran try to get his mack on 25 times in a row...)

#2 - gotta break up the groups!   there were several groups of girls who came together and were friends sitting next to eachother.  This was a problem because they can hear you talking to all their friends and they can talk to eachother before, DURING  and after your "3-minutes"...

also on the guys side.  I knew the guys before and after me too... and they were talking about me in advance to the next 'date'...   (using up all my good info!)

anyway,  i tried to be honest and realistic in my selection -  if I thought I could spend a whole date talking to this person again, I checked "yes",  if I thought it wasn't worth it (time, money, emotional distress, etc),  I checked "no".    :-P

According to the early results I had at least two or three mutual "yes" matches ....  and i've got 6 days til Valentines day.

i have seen a similar Omiai party in TV news. yes, guys were so talkative to appeal themselves in minutes and girls looked to become bored. poor KY(kuuki ga yomenai) guys!

did they tell you who your matches were or you had to figure it out yourself?? cause if that's the case, you better start recalling who you marked "yes"....before the valentines day!! =)
