Edison Chen Faces the Public in Hong Kong

As many have mentioned already, yesterday Edison came back to Hong Kong to discuss the Edison Chen Sex Photo Scandal in person (after his previous Edison Chen Bin Laden-like video statement).

昨日エディソンは香港へ帰った、プレスカンファレンスをした。。。。とても大きいニュースでした。CWBで大テレビで有りました、誰でも止まれまして見た。

But more interesting than the actual statement was the reaction it got amongst the public!
I was in Causeway Bay with T for a meeting yesterday when we saw a big crowd stopping to watch one of the big TV screens, it was quite interesting actually, because we were in a hurry, I didn't stop to take a lot of pictures, just two:

"I'm outta here!"

So I guess this is pretty much the end of this story? or at least the beginning of the end? I'm sure the public will stop paying as much attention assuming no more pictures or videos come out... Did whoever was doing it get paid off, arrested (or maybe just whacked)? Maybe we'll never know. :-P

who is that stupid to take those kinda pics in the first place?? hello idiots!!! has there ever been someone who took nude/pornographic pics and that didnt came out?? it's just asking for trouble, oh well look on the brightside now we all have something to laugh about!! whahaha suckers!!

ps: edison chen can always go into the adult industry if he feels the need for filming or exposure haha

re 'stepping away from the industry' - perhaps I'm too cynical, but it wouldn't be hard to believe that that detail was some how a precondition to a settlement of an extortion case or if there really was triad involvement, etc.

I think it was very mature of him to step away from the hk entertainment industry. He's so smart and talented, I am sure we will see him popping up again soon sometime or another.

dark justice - no random words don't really work, but a healthy number of search phrases on related subjects do help.... the proof is in the pudding, my first 'Edison Chen Sex Photos' blog got 30,000+ views!

i think it's crazy to realize this event has been on the cover of at least one of the main newspapers for around 20 days in a row!!! sex sells, there is no doubt, but i think this is too much?!

also, i found all these comparassions between HK and US or even East vs West are not really accurate. They are just big generalizations based on what one side /thinks/ the other side is....

in spanish we say: "En todos los lugares se cuecen habas" (in all the places fava beans are cooked). It means that in all places there are the same problems.

I feel bad for everyone involved in this "scandal", sad that they all have to apologize for their personal lives, and kind of upset that supposedly so many careers are being affected by it. I think Edison will probably go to work in other countries, if he can. He only said he was leaving Hong Kong Entertainment, not Entertainment in general. Either way hopefully the scandal ends before too much more damage occurs to anyone else. Although I guess it's good Nicholas found out that Cecilia had been cheating on him.

Also, I think google doesn't take random phrases, it sees it as spam, so you have to have punctuation and full to semi-full sentences in order for it to list you. It used to work with just words written at random, that's why a ton of older sites would just have random lists of words at the bottom, but then Google figured people were messing up searches by just randomly putting things in there. At least that's what our SEO guy at my work tells us. Oh he also says it helps if you bold important commonly searched terms.

Hahaha Self-imposed community service. "I did nothing illegal here so I will arrest myself and impose community service on myself for an indeterminate time to end on the earlier of my getting a good job offer outside of HK or one month. So ordered." Edison, idiot, negligent party, judge, jury and probation officer. He cracks me up.

He seemed genuine enough with his apology this time, it's quite strange to see how people are'frozen in time' as they listen to the statement. I just hope this is the end of the matter.

This situation is just appalling at this point imo. The guy looked like he was under strobe lights when he was talking. And all those people standing frozen watching this?! This is like Edisongate or something. I note he specified several times he was stepping away from the 'Hong Kong' entertainment business & that the time frame is indefinite. Who knows what the future holds for this guy. From his look & manner could be anything from jumping off a bridge to making a success of his career away from Hong Kong.

Here's what I see happening now with the Paparazzi. They've milked this part of Le Scandale for all it's worth. I predict the tide is now gonna turn & they'll be milking it some more in the poor Edison, too much has been made of this, hasn't he suffered enough theme. Nah, they're not done selling news over this yet. It hasn't run it's course.

If Edison were in the US, he'd become instantly way more famous for having a sex tape or sex photos. Like Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian. Edison should move to Hollywood! Honestly though, I'm really surprised he had to withdraw from showbiz because of this.
