Eric Haze 'Full Circle' Gallery Event

On Wednesday there was a gallery opening for the Eric Haze 'Full Circle' exhibition held at Delay No Mall's gallery space in CWB. 

I am really not a big art guy... nor a fashion guy... only slightly a design guy (my degree is in machine design, but on the functional end of the scale, not the artist end)...   So I only knew that Eric Haze was the guy who designed the 24Herbs logo and that he did designs for a lot of hip-hop related artists.  I didn't realize til I read his wikipedia page that specifically he was the guy who made the logos for MTV, Run DMC, Public Enemy, etc and did the cover design of Beastie Boy's 'Check Your Head'. album cover....

so it turns out I am already quite familiar with a lot of his iconic work!

The event was hosted by 24Herbs, 8five2shop, Diesel's 55DSL brand, mocachina...

The gallery is quite nice, they recently renovated this area-

It was not crowded when we came around 9:30, but by 11 or so it was pretty full, but you could still see all the artwork, thats the most important thing.

I had a chance to talk to Eric Haze a bit,  he was pretty nice,  it was interesting to see how many people came up to him to ask him to sign stuff:

Not everyone can afford to buy one of the paintings on the wall, but more than a few got him to sign the poster on the wall....

I was busy smoozing most of the time, but I did take a few pictures here and there of some of the people too:

Ghost Style on the turn tables!   the music being spun by GS and the other DJs was quite good, lots of old school (80s-90s!) hip-hop favorites from my youth... ;-)
