A few more pics from last last sunday in Guilin: まだ桂林の写真が有る。日曜日朝、大母さんと一緒町の中央で散歩した。天気があまり。。。

they were right when they told us to take the Li River cruise on Saturday instead of Sunday, the weather was much worse on Sunday... but I can imagine on a nice clear spring or fall day, this part of town is quite nice...

Our objective was the nearby Elephant Trunk Hill:　エレファント鼻山へ行った：

its a natural (hopefully natural) cave in a rock along the Li River in downtown Guilin. Its supposed to look like an elephant drinking water... but nowadays the water level is too low so it doesn't quite work... (this is what its supposed to look like).

I got my mom to take a picture... this one took a few tries before she got the light balance right and managed to get the cave and me in the frame...

Nearby they had a park w/ elephant related sculptures...

and of course nearby in the river:

a bunch of small boats offering rides and taking pictures w/ cormorants, etc...

absolutely dreary weather! but no fear, our next destination is immune to such things...もとが有る！待ってください！

My list of sites to see is growing, I think I might aswell just move to China for a year. The moon cave sound lovely. And your mum did a nice job with the photo.

It's a nice place, I really want to visit some more places before I leave China; but thinking of Amelie's special toilet preference, I'm so lazy to visit any places here :(

I think it still looks like an elephant drinking. You had a great trip. I can't remember...how many days were you there?
