Hong Kong Star X Launch Gala - pt 2

Here's part two of my pictures from the Hong Kong Star X Media company's launch event.  This chapter is from the entertainment program of the night (part 1, the signing board stuff is here).

Quite a big banquet,  like 30 tables!


They did a lion dance ceremony to kick things off.   While we were watching it I realized that I think I actually see less lion dances now that I live in HK then I did when I was living in SF... (because of the wushu people)...



They also did a welcome toast w/ the whole Star X talent group. Can you find Race in there?


They did a fashion show too -

not sure why they're modeling swimwear in December... but I'm not complaining. ;-)

Winner for most elegant in the fashion show goes to my second favorite female duo:

the Divas in some evening wear...

But the award for strangest goes to this guy and his burgandy velvet suit with comedically oversized corsage:

i couldn't get a better picture, but basically its some sort of floral decoration built into the left lapel of his jacket... quite large.  takes a very confident man to pull this look off... :-P


They had Prudence go up on stage to congratulate her for winning the Golden Horse award last week.

After that it was a number of performances by various Star X artists.  The highlights included:

After their duet, Devin stayed on stage and did a solo....

And then she returned to perform with an artist named Cliff:

They didn't write his last name, but don't you think Cliff looks a bit like Jay Chou?  he should change his hair style maybe. ;-)

Of course the main performance we wanted to see was Race:


I snuck up to the front to get a few close-ups:



Race's biggest fan (besides for me)  was up there filming too.

Kenny B peformed too.  He has a great stage presence, they did some duets too:

yet again Devin of Divas was back out to perform with Kenny.



And of course Dolphin Yu went up for one more song as 'Divas'.... ;-)
