Junk Trip #1 - 船パーティ

Saturday was the first of what hopefully will be a LOT of summer boat trips.  Long time etchy blog readers will remember blogs like this one and this one from last summer where I shared a pictures and a few videos of boat trips we took.  先週末僕達船でパーティしました。香港で夏時これは人気活動です。香港の東方の奇麗水の湾まで行く、泳ぐ、遊ぶ、食べる、飲める。。。楽しいよ！

For those who don't know,  a popular summer pastime here in HK during the summer months is to get a big group of people together and rent a boat and head out to some of the nicer parts of HK's coastline out to the east (further away from the pollution of the Pearl River delta on the west side).    Its the equivalent of a typical American beach BBQ trip except you take a boat there instead of driving...


We had about 20 people this time,  it probably would have been more, but the weather had been pretty horrible the previous week (daily lightning storms and torrential rain bursts).  But luckily this day it was just overcast...  although the seas were a bit choppy!  (luckily I have an iron stomach and thus don't fear seasickness!)


This time we got the motorboat and a few of us did wakeboarding.  (i have been eager to try it more after my last trip last month w/ Eddie).　もう一度ウエイクボードした

Shan was actually quite impressive - she was extremely good at getting up, which is the hardest part for me... (60-80% of the time I just fall over before I get all the way out of the water).

Michael was also pretty good, although he has gone more than a few times.  I tried a rapid fire sequence to see if I could catch him flying in mid-air...

doh!


By the time we headed back the cloud level had risen quite a bit and I was worried about getting sunburn by the UV radiation (even though we never actually saw any sun).

帰った時天気がもと良いになった。太陽見えなかったけど、日焼けをもらったが心配した。
