I swear, this is the last bit of photos from our Shanghai trip last last weekend!


I found this interesting packaging of a japanese soft drink in a convenience store.  I don't think i've seen anything like this before in Japan... must be new:



Its a PET bottle AND a can!

We ended up at this Karaoke place. Since we had a bunch of people coming we asked for the biggest room.  They gave us this super retro place:


Yes, had the little stage w/ the chair, the screen and the mics... when was the last time you did karaoke with wired microphones? so old school! :-P

But they had a pretty good selection! Including these rare hits from the late 90s:

I heard this guy joined a boy band later on...

Last but not least - some actual photos of Shanghai! Since this was a pretty quick trip (2 days only, + packed with events and a meeting or two), we didn't do ANY sightseeing... But I did some earlier this year, so I could live. On the way to the airport I did take a few pics from the taxi... more to just show you that SOMETIMES the weather (and pollution) in Shanghai can be quite clear:

It is!  Shanghai is a strange nexus of foreign franchises that you can't find in other countries.  Japanese stores and brands + US brands, stores and restaurant chains, plus HK stuff of course...  If only the Taco Bell Grande was still open. :-(
