  • Tokyo Oct 08 - Odaiba

    the film festival reception was actually held way out in the middle of Tokyo bay on a manmade island called Odaiba (wikipedia).  It was held at the Nikko hotel in a conference room (that unfortunately had no windows).


    This was the hotel lobby.

    Outside of the hotel, the view of Tokyo Bay was pretty cool -

    Rainbow Bridge and Tokyo Tower. nice!


    This hotel was next to 'Aqua City'  mall and the distinctive Fuji TV headquarters building... which looks like some kind of space ship.


    And for some reason they have their own Statue of Liberty here (but not full size!)



    It was only 8:30, so on my way back via Shimbashi I took a short detour... to Akihabara... :-P

    Can't believe you guys are in Japan again.   I swear I'm gonna move there one day and be a full-time otaku.

    Oh, wow!  I can almost see Carol Burnett with her drapery-rod dress walking down the stairs toward Harvey Korman (as Rhett), her eyelids fluttering......

    great pictures!!!! the lights are pretty... and uhm... the Statue of Liberty... o.O  hahaa... fancy hotel... =)
